Tragedy shakes the emotions of the audience, and achieves their catharsis.
And the story goes on.
The end of a story is the beginning of another.
In this piece, the emotions are expressed in the persistent sense of intense stillness among all the movements.
The experience is momentary, but of something timeless.
I hope this piece opens a door to such an experience.
久しぶりの更新になります。昨年秋からコントラベースリコーダーとエレクトロニクスのための”Instan’stillation”という作品を作曲していました。３月５日、20:30からアムステルダムのスプレンダーで発表です。この”Susie, tell me a story!” という企画のために、物語と音楽との関係、物語を超えるものは、悲劇は何のためにあるのか・・などなど考えて制作しました。そして書き終わったあとはこの楽器のことが以前にも増して好きになっていました。
以下、作品のノートです。
“Instan’stillation”
悲劇は観るものの感情を揺り動かし、カタルシスを起こす。
そして物語は移ろいゆく。
物語の終わりは次の物語の始まりである。
この作品の中で感情は、張りつめた静寂の持続的な感覚により表されている。
一瞬であると同時に、時間を超越した感覚。
そんな時間体験を作り出すことができたのならば、この上ない喜びである。
